Making every cruise day great!

Portland, Maine is one of the most popular stops in the busy Canada New England cruise itinerary that runs between home ports of Montréal and Québec and Boston and New York. Together with Bar Harbor, Portland attracts cruisers anxious to experience Maine’s history, light houses, scenery, great food and wonderful shopping.

With more than 80 ships visiting the port during our peak fall season, Cruise Portland has developed the 2023 Pilot PortShare Promise program for the fall tourist season to help us better understand and address the impacts of cruise tourism on our community – we’ll be adding new programs to help manage and improve cruise passenger traffic in and around the port.

We’re also keen to provide the community and visitors with an easy way to submit comments, concerns and compliments through our Community Feedback Hotline. These comments will provide invaluable information to help us address immediate concerns as well as to allow the group to plan for future improvements to our PortShare Promise initiative.

We’re providing Traffic Safety Guides at key crossing spots, a Hop-on/Hop-off free shuttle to transport cruisers into and around Portland, a map of public restrooms and more, plus we’re working to optimize public awareness. With your help, we can make every cruise day great for our coastal communities and visitors alike!
